If you are interested in taking your athletic performance to the next level - whether that next level is beginning a training program for the first time, improving your personal best time, winning your age group, or turning professional - you came to the right place.

Joe Company, PhD founded ECo in 2010, but prior to this he coached at the high school and collegiate level, worked with Olympic training programs, and worked with a number of high-performance athletes, scientists, researchers, and coaches.  Joe began consulting endurance athletes in 2002, but as he evolved in his education and experience, he wanted to make his expertise available to more people.  ECo is the product of Joe's experience.

Endurance Company coaches and partners are carefully selected to provide quality coaching, teaching, information, and advice. All ECo coaches provide a valuable combination of education, practical experience, and knowledge in Joe's training philosophies.  Endurance Company coaches apply these key principles to provide unparalleled, customized training programs for all abilities of athletes.

Our mission is make your training and racing experience as rewarding as possible. The goal is to help you become a healthy, successful, complete athlete by providing a training plan that helps you reach your goals while maintaining balance in your life.

In addition to custom training plans, we offer laboratory bike and run VO2max and lactate testing as well as 'field testing' for bike power. These tests allow unparalleled optimization of your training plan.

It is time to take the guesswork out of your training!

After working with Joe for over two years, I am more convinced than ever that he is the best that Triathlon Coaching has to offer!  Joe uses science to back his training that is personalized for each individual athlete.  Joe's guidance and coaching saves time, enhances athlete confidence, and holds athletes accountable for their training.  Joe has an amazing ability to combine all of his efforts to bring out the very best in each of his individual athletes.

The thing that impressed me the most with Joe as a coach is his use of science to determine workouts, race nutrition, training paces, and race performances.  When ever I am doing a workout and I question if I can or can not execute it properly, I fall back on the fact that Joe's workouts are well thought out and based on exercise physiology.  With Joe, I am not relying on a computer program or “coaching for the masses” to guide my training.  With that thought in mind, I have even more confidence that I can actually hit my goals.  If something does not go well, Joe can usually figure out the reason why.  From training and race nutrition, to paces, to “it's just not my day,” his insight and constant feedback gives me the confidence I treasure as an adult athlete.  Additionally, Joe has well-established networks of expertise that he turns to for additional advice.  Nutrition, cross training, running efficiency, cycling tips from pro cyclist, swimming and sports psychology are all covered for ECo athletes through his web site, constant education, training camps and feedback.

As I have experienced set backs in my training due to injury, Joe has stood by my side and altered my training and racing accordingly.  In fact, Joe had numerous athletes training for Ironman Arizona this year and each athlete presented with a completely different situation.  I am sure we all differed greatly in our mental states and physiology as we trained and prepared as well.  But each one of us thrived under Joe's guidance and got to show off our fitness with personal bests at Ironman Arizona.  It was the highlight of my racing career!  And throughout my rehabilitation, Joe worked hard to keep up with my changing needs and therapist's recommendations.  When I was down or unmotivated, Joe offered constant motivation and an optimistic view on my situation.  Joe was always looking for the positives as I trained and squelched my need to train excessively and possibly re-injure myself.  Joe's coaching helped keep me healthy and motivated which in turn, brought out the best in my performance on race day!

I truly believe that Joe's broad base of knowledge on exercise physiology, thoughtfulness, patience, and optimistic personality are paired with the fact that Joe truly cares about each of his athletes and Endurance Company!  Anyone willing to communicate and work hard will thrive with Joe as a coach!  I watched it happen with my ECo teammates and saw it in myself!  Thanks Dr. Joe!!
